One of my favourite pedagogies of liberation I practice is assisting others in creating vibrant art pieces. Creativity and imagination come from the depths of our very being. The shift happens when we can be still, imaginative, inventive, breathe, and in reciprocity with our creative selves. Truly listening to our intuition while being creative helps us calmly balance our mental and emotional bodies without words. Taking time to be still physically, to let go of tension, to communicate and be in community with one another cultivates brilliant seeds of change. While painting together, I share cultural and historical stories related to our work. I genuinely feel solutions for our liberation can be found in the art we produce. Artistic creations are a window to the spirit world, acknowledge and embrace your ancestors.
